Reviewing an alternative to SAP

Considering NetSuite
instead of SAP?

Before you commit to another ERP project, compare the NetSuite option against the processes, data and integrations your business relies on.

  • Start with your exact SAP product and version
  • Test the processes you cannot compromise on
  • Compare the full migration and ongoing cost

Before choosing a replacement

Compare the work.
Not just the licences.

Use the same requirements for each option. A smaller subscription quote is not the same thing as a smaller project.

01

Your current SAP system

Record the product, version, entities, users and support arrangements. Review which reports, extensions and interfaces your team depends on.

02

The NetSuite fit

Use real transactions to check finance, purchasing, stock, reporting and any specialist requirements. Identify modules, development or integration work explicitly.

03

The migration commitment

Scope data preparation, historical access, testing, training and cutover. Compare ongoing support and costs over the same period as the SAP proposal.

Your SAP product matters. Our NetSuite and SAP comparison explains the distinctions between ECC and S/4HANA Cloud options.

Bring the awkward questions

What must still work
after the move?

Tell us about the process you are most concerned about replacing. A difficult stock movement or reporting requirement is more useful here than a polished wish list.

Discuss my SAP replacement
Before a proposal

Identify critical workflows, reporting obligations, integrations and customisations that need a detailed fit assessment.

Before a timetable

Review exports, data quality, required history and your team’s availability for testing and training.

Before a commitment

Agree acceptance tests, responsibility for unresolved gaps and a cutover and recovery plan.

Questions before changing ERP

Fit, cost
and migration risk.

Check the details before treating any product as a replacement for your current SAP system.

Which SAP product do you need to know about?

Tell us the product, version and deployment model, if known. ECC, S/4HANA, Business One and Business ByDesign are different starting points; the assessment should reflect the system you actually use.

Does a support deadline mean we have to choose NetSuite?

No. Check the support policy and your contract for the exact SAP product and version. A deadline is a reason to plan, not evidence that NetSuite is the right replacement.

Will NetSuite cost less than our SAP proposal?

That needs a like-for-like assessment. Compare users, entities, modules, migration, integrations, internal time, training and ongoing support over the same period. We will not assume savings before reviewing scope.

Can our SAP data and customisations move across?

We need to assess the data exports, quality, history and the purpose of existing customisations. Some requirements may need a different configuration or new integration work. Do not assume that custom code transfers unchanged.

What if a critical process does not fit NetSuite?

Identify that before committing. Test the process in detail and assess any required extension or integration, including cost and support responsibilities. An unresolved critical gap belongs in the decision, not in the fine print.

What happens after I enquire?

Deepak or a colleague will reply within 24 business hours to arrange a conversation. We will ask about your current SAP system and the reasons for reviewing it, then agree the next steps.

Review the NetSuite option.

Tell us which SAP system you use and what is prompting the review. We’ll arrange a conversation about the requirements.
